Stafford Train Station Artwork….

Artwork in the studio while being created - see more below…

To celebrate Stafford Train Station’s bee & pollinator friendly status Proteanart was commisioned to run creative sessions with various community groups and to create an artwork piece for display in Stafford Train Station in 2026.

The artwork had several objectives: to involve the local community in the making; to engage visitors and passengers; and to highlight the station’s pollinator friendly status.

This has been done with prominent, colourful and eye-catching metal flowers made from recycled soda cans covered in metal versions of pollinating insects - and with prominent copper-covered letters to welcome travellers to S T A F F O R D.

The project has been made possible by Avanti West Coast and North Staffs Rail Partnership.

How many pollinators can you spot?

Residents and staff of Eagle House, Stafford (part of the Spring House Association), Beam and members of the wider local Stafford community took part in this project. They produced patterned leaves and flowers during workshop sessions that were then used to complete the artwork on display at Stafford Railway station.

A fantastic time. Has improved my mental health. I’m so proud of what I’ve achieved. Who would have thought that old cans could be so lovely. Thank you Debbie - the other participants were so friendly.
